The four Tasmanian award winners are now in the running for the national awards to be announced in January.

“It’s amazing. I never thought when I started swimming as a little girl my life would turn into this,” 24-year-old Titmus said.

“I’m just so proud of what I’ve achieved. I guess with everything that I’ve done it’s now showing me that my swimming is so much more than swimming.

“It’s having an impact on people in other ways and I think I’m almost more proud of that than all the medals and the records.”
