Launceston council says it’s on track for the return of the city’s international tennis tournament.
Upgrades to facilities at the Launceston Tennis Centre are well advanced, with the council confident the project which includes a new $3.5 million clubhouse will be completed before the first ball is struck on February 24.
A council spokesperson says the clubhouse is complete leaving just ‘finishing touches’ to the car park and surrounds.
Launceston Council had previously stated the project’s completion would be in December, well ahead of the tournament that kicks off on February 24.
The project was impacted by severe weather in September last year.
