Hope in a Suitcase
Bringing Comfort to Children in Foster Care
Hope in a Suitcase is dedicated to providing children entering foster care across Australia with a suitcase filled with new belongings. This meaningful initiative seeks to replace the emotional burden of carrying personal items in a plastic bag with the comfort of a suitcase of hope. By offering these children a suitcase full of essentials, Hope in a Suitcase helps reduce feelings of embarrassment, fear, and insecurity, empowering them with a sense of dignity and stability during what is often a challenging and uncertain time.
As we approach the holiday season, November is our Christmas Drive Month in support of Hope in a Suitcase. Next week, we will launch our online campaign to collect donations of essential items such as clothing, suitcases, hygiene products, and toys for children of all ages.
This year, we are particularly in need of toys to bring joy and comfort to children who may not otherwise experience the warmth of the holiday season. Your generosity, whether through donating goods, sharing the campaign, or offering financial support, will make a significant difference in these children’s lives.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help provide a child with a sense of normalcy, dignity, and hope during a difficult time. Your support this Christmas will truly have a lasting impact.
You can drop off your donations at Urban Money, located at 218 Wellington St, South Launceston.
