More than 10,000 racegoers have attended this year’s Launceston Cup.
Organisers say numbers were up more than two thousand on last year.
Racegoers enjoyed a full day of racing, and celebrated Longford-trained horse Distrustful Award storm home to take the Cup.

The day was however tinged with sadness after champion Tasmanian racehorse The Inevitable was euthanised after breaking down in the Hellova Street stakes.
It was due be his farewell race in Tasmania.
He was Tasmania’s Ladbrokes horse of the year in 2023.
