Independent Bass MP Rebekah Pentland has joined those calling for a new large-scale conference centre to be built in Launceston.
She said she’s been inspired by the ongoing campaign of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce saying it’s essential for the region’s growth and its ability to attract major events to the area.
Businesses and other stakeholders are waiting on a $300,000 government feasibility study, which has been delayed.

Ms Pentland said she’s spoken with the Premier about the project and confirmed the funding for the study remains in place.
