Police have charged a 24-year-old unlicensed male driver after reports he was driving erratically on Saturday afternoon in the state’s north.

Police say his vehicle was not registered and had significant defects, including a misaligned front wheel which caused the tyre to burn as the vehicle was being driven.

He was charged and will appear in court at a later date.

Police say this incident posed a significant risk on one of our main highways, and they want to thank the members of the community who notified them about the dangerous driving behaviour.
