Launceston based Tasmanian independent senator Tammy Tyrrell has backed fellow ex Jacqui Lambie Network MPs to continue to represent their electorates effectively in the aftermath of their split from the minority party.
Ms Tyrrell has been questioned about life inside the JLN and has chosen her words carefully.
She says Bass MP Rebekah Pentland will recover from what’s happened and will do her best for her electorate.
“You’ve got a very strong human being who is very passionate and who speaks passionately,” she said, referring to Ms Lambie.
“And she shoots from the hip.
“It’s really hard to work within a group situation with that. Jacqui does great work.
“But Rebekah, (fellow ex JLN member) Miriam Beswick and myself, we’ll do great work outside (of the JLN) because we are focused internally on Tasmania.”
