An act that would’ve shocked everyone if it was held a secret just a touch longer.
Bethesda, the studio behind Fallout & Elder Scrolls has today released a remaster of its critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion with no trailer or announcement that it was coming at all. The studio, for the most part, operated in secrecy for this project and planned to just release the game and surprise the fans.
This was an incredible idea, and a good way to get some good faith back with some audiences that felt the studio had lost its way. The news however was spoilt slightly as images of the remaster were leaked online last week with the news the studio was planning to stealth release the game today.
Despite the news being leaked ahead of time, the game and announcement plan is to be commended. With so many developers announcing games only to then delay them after excitement has spiked leads to disappointment and sky rocketing expectations the longer time goes on. The Oblivion Remaster can be found on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & PC starting at $84.95 AUD.
